I do not do it to be tough or to “be one of the guys” …
because I am not.
I am one of the girls.
I am a woman.
And I am a Hunter
We do the hard thing of packing up our kids, slowing down our steps, and taking them with us because hunting is about so much more; it’s the memories made, the lessons taught, the laughter heard and the tears wiped as challenges are overcome and success is celebrated.

I have been packing babies on my back in the field, holding hands with toddlers as we climb mountains together, or lugging the backpacks of small kids on hunts since I have been a mom.
But now it is different.
Now I have a teenage daughter who has grown to be an amazing hunting partner, friend in the field, and an equal as we climb.
I am thankful for this amazing young woman.

This kid has been spot and stalk turkey hunting since he was old enough, and has harvested every year. This year, at 13, he hung up the shotgun and decided it was archery only for him.
Spot and stalk archery turkey hunting is next level, and he showed, once again, that hard work pays off.

Spot and stalk turkey hunting is a much different game than sitting in a blind. This little girl has belly crawled, hiked, sat, and walked more than I imagined a 9 year old could. And it all paid off with not one but TWO turkey.
Her smile says it all!

Being a family has ups and downs. You hurt each other, you heal each other, but you never leave each other.
