I am the Parent

My mind was blown today.

I was in the waiting room at the orthodontist and a man was just leaving with his son.

A few minutes later the DAD came back into the office and said “oh, I forgot, I need a note to give to the school to excuse my son.”

My jaw dropped and I wanted to grab him and say “Do you understand what you just said??

You need a front desk stranger to write a note to justify to the school why his FATHER took him out?

You are not the middleman between the school and the orthodontist. You are the PARENT! You ARE the authority...nobody else.

You don’t need a NOTE from anyone giving permission! You ARE the permission!”

Obviously, it is not just the kids that are being indoctrinated by the system…clearly the parents are too!

I literally just witnessed a grown man ask permission from a stranger to excuse his own child from school.

Ponder that a moment.
