You Are Here

As the world feels overwhelming, loud, and chaotic, we must remember that, never before in history, have we been able to know what is going on in all places,at all times.

Historically, humans have known what goes on in their neighborhoods, towns, and perhaps a few towns over, but, even then, it was not a consistent moment-by moment, play- by- play.

We were present in our homes. We were invested in our communities.

Rarely would a human know what was going on hundreds and thousands of miles away.

We were not created with the capacity to be involved in every person's, in every place’s, lives.

We were not designed to know what is happening all the time, everywhere.

There is no way our minds and hearts can handle it

-so we end up overwhelmed, anxious, and often paralyzed in our own lives as we watch millions of other lives happening before us.

We have let the lives of all the world in our front doors, and we have forsaken the lives and events within our own four walls of our homes.

We have stopped attending to the very people in front of us in order to swipe through thousands of lives an hour…for what?

We prescribe the anxiety away, yet we don’t identify that we bear this anxiety because we were never meant to know, let alone carry, the weight of all the world.

Let us go back to what was.

Let us zoom in on where we are and what we are here for.

Let us feed our neighbors and read to our children.

Let us commune, face to face, with the people that are around us.

Let us invest and make a difference in a closer circle.

Changing the world starts here.
